River Plate fans abuse Mascherano
The Barcelona star was called a "moneygrabber" by supporters of his former club as he made his way through Tokyo airport on Monday
Javier Mascherano was subjected to verbal abuse from River Plate supporters at Tokyo airport as Barcelona prepared to fly home following their Club World Cup triumph on Monday.
A number of fans of the midfielder's former club called him a "moneygrabber" amongst other insults, while he was also jeered after being substituted during the final.
Mascherano began his career with River and helped them to win the 2004 Clausura title before moving to Corinthians the following year.
